However, looking a bit deeper than the macro conditions of a recession, the great migration of Americans to south Florida has slowed down considerably from last summer. In addition, there has not been as much rain this year as expected, which heavily affects how many people need roofing services.

When combining economic hardship, which may cause homeowners to push off expensive roofing projects, less rain, and a slowdown in new Floridians, it’s not too much of a surprise that the summer of 2022 is a bit slower than the wild summer of 2021.

With the Fed raising rates, we see fewer new homebuyers down here. Last year we got many calls from people newly arriving in Florida concerned with their roofs holding up to a hurricane. Many of our calls in recent months are from native or long-standing Floridians.”

Abe also said, “The good thing is we can finish roof replacements quicker now. Usually, during summer, with a hectic schedule and a lot of rain, roofing projects tend to get delayed.
